OUR RACE ORGANIZERS

Mark Dorion has been running and racing since 1971 and has completed over 200 races of  26 miles or longer.  He has run a 32:01 10Km; a 2:27:23 marathon;  and a 3:09:25  50Km.  In 2007, Mark completed 397 miles in the New York Self-Trans. 6 Day race.

He has been a teacher, coach and race director since 1988 and is currently teaching at El Paso Community College. 
He and his wife, Helen, and their children Amalia and Toby are all volunteers in the Franklin Mountains State Park.  They put on the Cactus Pass and other local events as a way to give back to the El Paso community and generate interest in the State Park and the outdoors in general.
